Effects of Adding Maca Polysaccharide to Feed on Laying Performance,Egg Quality,Immune Indicators and Economic Benefits of Laying Hens in Late Laying Period

Abstract
The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of maca polysaccharide on the laying perfor-mance,egg quality,immune function,and economic benefits of laying hens during late laying stages.600 60-week-old Hy-Line Brown hens were selected for the experiment and randomly divided into four groups,with 6 replicates in each group and 25 chickens in each replicate.Group A(control group)was fed a basic diet,while groups B,C and D were fed the basal diet supplemented with 500,1 000 and 1 500 mg/kg of maca polysaccharide,respectively.The pre-trial period lasted for 7 days,and the main trial period was 42 days.The results showed that compared with group A,the laying rate,average egg weight,and average daily egg weight of laying hens in groups B,C and D significantly increased(P<0.05);the rate of non-conforming eggs in groups C and D significantly decreased(P<0.05);the feed-egg ratio in groups B,C and D significantly decreased(P<0.05);there were no significant differences in average daily feed intake among the groups(P>0.05).Compared with group A,the egg shell strength of hens in groups C and D significantly improved(P<0.05),and the Haugh unit of eggs in groups B,C and D significantly increased(P<0.05);the serum levels of IgA,IgG,IgM,IL-2 and IFN-γ in hens in groups B,C and D all significantly increased(P<0.05);the economic benefits of groups B,C and D all improved,with the highest economic benefit achieved when the addition level was 1 000 mg/kg.关键词
