Abstract
Traditional medical education is centered on fixed-duration programs and a"time-based"training model,leading to the problems of uneven competency in medical students and disconnection from clinical needs.Due to the fundamental flaws,it increasing-ly fails to meet the diverse requirements of modern healthcare system for physician competence.Competency-Based Medical Education(CBME)emerges as an outcome-oriented educational paradigm,providing a theoretical framework for addressing the aforementioned issues.We conduct a comparative study to analyze the core characteristics and advantages of CBME over the traditional time-based model,and then elaborate on the paradigm shift and systemic challenges during implementation in terms of goal orientation,assessment system,and multi-stakeholder roles.Taking the organ-system integrated course of immune system and diseases as an example,we propose the practical pathways to the application of CBME in teaching.This study aims to provide theoretical reference for medical edu-cation reform,which involves the transformation from time-based to competency-based approach,the accelerated integration of basic and clinical medicine,the improvement of cultivation quality of physicians,and the ultimate protection of patient safety.关键词
