Abstract
Objective To analyze the mortality and years of life lost of lung cancer in Fangshan district,Beijing, from 2003 to 2023 to in-form regional prevention and control strategies. Methods Using the data from Beijing population death registration and reporting informa-tion system from 2003 to 2023,indicators including crude mortality rate(CMR),standardized mortality rate(SMR),potential years of life lost(PYLL),and average years of life lost(AYLL)of lung cancer in Fangshan district were calculated.Joinpoint regression was used to estimate annual percent change(APC)and average APC(AAPC)for temporal trend analysis. Results From 2003 to 2023,the CMR of lung cancer was 47.58/100 000 and the SMR was 34.93/100 000.The CMR presented an overall upward trend(AAPC=4.305%,P<0.01).with demo-graphic factors responsible for 54.38%of the rise.Male CMR(63.48/100 000)was 2.01 times that of females(31.60/100 000).In the overall population, the SMR exhibited fluctuations during the study period, its long-term trend was not statistically significant(AAPC=1.121%,P=0.118);PYLL rate(PYLLR)increased;AYLL declined from 12.69 to 9.28 years per person from 2003 to 2023.The burden remained heavier in males:in 2023,male PYLLR(5.25‰)was 2.62 times that of females(2.00‰).The CMR of lung cancer in Fangshan district in-creased with age after age 40,rising markedly after age 60,and peaking in the 80-84 age group. Conclusions Demographic factors is the main driver of rising CMR of lung cancer in Fangshan district, whereas falling SMR and AYLL likely reflect improved screening, diagnosis, treatment, and health awareness. The disease burden is substantially greater in males.Strengthening early screening and optimizing the man-agement of high-risk groups are recommended to further reduce lung cancer mortality and burden.关键词
