Abstract
Orthodontic treatment for patients with peri-odontitis faces new challenges due to the bipolarization of pa-tient age distribution,calling for individualization as the core principle.Adequate periodontal evaluation and individualized treatment planning are essential for achieving a balance be-tween periodontal health and orthodontic outcomes.This arti-cle systematically discusses the key points of combined orth-odontic and periodontal treatment for young and aging patients with periodontitis,including periodontal assessment,treat-ment goal setting based on alveolar bone resorption patterns,extraction decision-making and surgical timing,appliance se-lection,clinical considerations on age differences,multidisci-plinary collaboration,and post-treatment retention,aiming to provide references for clinicians.关键词
