产业链链长制能否提升企业全要素生产率
Can the industrial chain chief system improve corporate total factor productivity?

Abstract
As a responsibility system for promoting major initiatives with Chinese characteristics,the industrial chain chief system is an important institutional innovation to facilitate the smooth circulation of the national economy,enhance the independent and controllable capability of industrial chains,and promote the high-quality development of enterprises.Based on the data of A-share listed companies in China from 2011 to 2021,regarding the phased implementation of the industrial chain chief system in various provinces and cities as a quasi-natural experiment,this paper constructs a staggered difference-in-differences(staggered DID)model and tests the impact of the system on corporate total factor productivity(TFP).The study finds the follows.First,the industrial chain chief system significantly helps improve corporate TFP.Secondly,the system improves corporate TFP by correcting corporate capital misallocation,enhancing market competition and reducing operating costs.Thirdly,the system significantly improves the TFP of firms in the growth and maturity stages,non-state-owned enterprises,and firms in central and eastern regions,but has no significant effect on firms at the decline stage,on state-owned enterprises,and on firms in northeastern and western regions.Fourthly,the industrial chain chief system can effectively empower industrial chain correlation.This study not only confirms that the institutional innovation of the industrial chain chief system helps promote the high-quality development of enterprises,but also points out the direction for the formulation of future industrial policies.关键词
