晋北明代卫所城市的形态演进与比较研究
Morphological Evolution and Comparative Study on Dynasty Garrison Cities in Northern Shanxi:Cases of Zuoyun and Youyu

Abstract
Along the Great Wall in northern Shanxi Province,Zuoyun and Youyu,as a pair of neighboring counties named in mirroring opposition("Left"and"Right"),have been inextricably linked since the Ming Dynasty due to the military garrison(Wei-Suo)system.Through six hundred years of rise and fall,they have developed a unique frontier urban landscape.Starting from their regional characteristics,developmental history,pattern evolution,and residential building forms,and adopting a combined method of historical document analysis and field investigation,this paper reveals the commonalities and differences between the two cities in terms of geographical environment,functional transformation,spatial planning,and architectural culture.It is found that the layouts of Zuoyun's"lying ox city"and Youyu's"square city with a cross pattern"respectively represent the planning wisdom of topographic adaptation and institutional standardization.The residential forms of"shop below,residence above"in Zuoyun and"workshop in front,shop in the middle,residence in the back"in Youyu are products driven by trade and cultural integration.The evolutionary paths of the two cities are a historical microcosm of frontier urban development in northern Shanxi,with referable significance for contemporary urban-rural heritage conservation and cultural-tourism integration.关键词
