Influence of Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose and Ultrafine Fly Ash on Pervious Concrete

Abstract
In the development of sponge cities,pervious concrete has emerged as a critical material for mitigating ur-ban flood disasters and alleviating the urban heat island effect.However,conventional pervious concrete exist the phenomenon of slurry flow,which results in reduced its internal porosity and thus weakens its permeability.This stu-dy investigated the reduction of slurry flow through the cohesive action of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose(HPMC)and evaluated its effects with the incorporation of ultrafine fly ash(UFA).The results showed that the addition of HPMC significantly decreased slurry fluidity while also reducing compressive strength and shortening setting time.Introducing UFA,slurry fluidity increased,and compressive strength initially rose before declining,achieving a peak value of 25.9 MPa.The inclusion of HPMC slightly reduced the porosity of pervious concrete but markedly en-hanced the permeability coefficient,reaching a maximum of 3.36 mm/s.关键词
