Study on the Doctor-Patient Communication in the Digital Age from Shaping Offline Medical Behaviors by Internet Hospital Interaction Patterns

Abstract
Objective To explore the impact of doctor-patient interaction patterns in internet hospitals on the conversion from online consultation to offline medical visits,and identify the key discourse and emotional characteristics influencing patients'deci-sion to seek offline care,thereby providing empirical evidence for optimizing online healthcare service processes and doctor-pa-tient communication strategies.Methods 229 real online consultation dialogues were collected from the urology department of a ter-tiary hospital,and linked with offline visit records.Drawing on an analytical framework of emotional dimensions in doctor-patient relationships,interaction patterns were classified into three types of parental,consumer and comrade.Chi-square test was used to analyze the association among different patterns and offline visit behavior,and LASSO logistic regression was employed to quan-tify and identify the key linguistic features influencing visit conversion.Results Significant differences were observed in offline visit rates across different doctor-patient interaction patterns(P＜0.01).The cooperative parental pattern(Parental Type I)showed the highest conversion rate,while the uncooperative parental pattern(Parental Type II)had the lowest.LASSO regression identi-fied the"number of chat turns"(OR=15.57)and the Parental Type I pattern(OR=7.10)as the strongest positive predictors,whereas the count of"medical entity terms"(OR=0.19)and the Parental Type II pattern(OR=0.20)were significantly nega-tive predictors.And the information density(OR=1.48),together with"number of chat turns"highlighted the importance of communication quality and depth.Conclusion Doctor-patient interaction patterns are key factors influencing patients'transition from online consultation to offline visits.High-quality online interaction depends not only on communication frequency but also on the effectiveness of the interaction pattern and the precision of information delivery(i.e.,information density).The findings suggest that in internet hospital management,identifying and guiding the establishment of cooperative interaction patterns,along with training doctors to enhance targeted and efficient communication,can improve the patients'compliance and achieve effective integration of online and offline healthcare services.关键词
