Chinese expert consensus on botulinum toxin type A for the treatment of childhood strabismus
摘要
Abstract
Strabismus is a common childhood ophthalmological disease,characterized by misalignment in one or both eyes.Severe childhood strabismus could lead to binocular visual impairments and double vision,and can negatively impact children's appearance and overall quality of life if not managed properly.Botulinum toxin type A(BTX-A)has become a non-surgical intervention for the management of childhood strabismus.In response,the Ophthalmology Group of the Pediatrics Branch of the Chinese Medical Association,along with the Children's Eye Health Group of the Ophthalmolo-gy Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association,gathered experts from relevant fields across China.Based on evidence from both domestic and international sources,the group combined expert opinions and reached consensus to support and standardize the use of BTX-A in the treatment of childhood strabismus.关键词
