Research progress of FGF21 in treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease
摘要
Abstract
Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver dis-ease(MASLD)has become a prevalent chronic liver disease worldwide.Its progression can lead to severe complications such as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis,liver fibrosis,and even hepatocellular carcinoma,posing a serious threat to human health.Due to the complex pathogenesis and lack of specific therapeutic drugs,the clinical treatment of MASLD faces great challenges.Fibroblast growth factor 21(FGF21),as an impor-tant metabolic regulatory hormone,plays a key role in regulat-ing glucose and lipid metabolism,alleviating liver inflammation and fibrosis,and improving insulin resistance.In recent years,it has become a research focus in the field of MASLD treatment.This article systematically reviews the research progress of FGF21 in the treatment of MASLD from the aspects of FGF21's biological characteristics,mechanism of action in MASLD treat-ment,combined treatment strategies,and research prospects,so as to provide a theoretical reference for subsequent clinical application.关键词
