Stability Performance of Thermophilic Anaerobic Digestion of Food Waste Slurry Under High Loading Conditions
摘要
Abstract
The thermophilic anaerobic process boasts the advantage of high load-bearing capacity;however,it often suffers from insufficient operational stability and relatively low actual operating load, which limits its engineering applications. To investigate the high-load treatment efficiency and long-term operational stability of the thermophilic anaerobic process for the digestion of food waste slurry wastewater, this study employed food waste slurry wastewater as the feedstock and conducted anaerobic treatment in a completely mixed reactor with an effective volume of 4 liters under thermophilic conditions(50±1)℃.This study examined the reactor stability and substance decomposition efficiency under the condition of gradually shortening hydraulic retention time(HRT)of 20,10,and 7 d.The experiment was conducted for 196 days, and the results showed that with the supplementation of certain trace nutrients, the process could work well.Considering the operation,sta-bility and decomposition efficiency, the condition under HRT of 10 days with a loading rate of 8.1 kgCOD·L-1d-1 would be a better choice.Under that condition, the total volatile fatty acids kept at a low level showing the strong stability. The remov-al of COD maintained at a high level of 80%as well. The results obtained from this study proved the feasibility of adopting thermophilic anaerobic digestion technology for food waste slurry wastewater.Comparing with the current industrial process, the thermophilic anaerobic digestion with trace elements supplementation has much advantages.关键词
