Government Open Data and Trade Credit

Abstract
This study leverages the quasi-natural experiment of the launch of local government open data platforms in China to construct a multi-period difference-in-differences(DID)model,examining the impact of government open data on enterprises'trade credit financing.Based on a sample of A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2009 to 2024,the results in-dicate that government open data significantly enhances enterprises'trade credit financing level.Mechanism analysis reveals that government open data promotes the improvement of enterprises'trade credit financing through two channels:optimizing the trade credit environment and enhancing enterprises'fulfillment capabilities.Heterogeneity analysis shows that the promoting effect of gove-rnment open data on trade credit is more pronounced in eastern regions,regions with a higher marketization level,regions with a lower trust level,and high-tech enterprises.This study enriches the relevant research on government open data and enterprises'trade credit,and provides empirical references for the market-oriented allocation of data factors and the development of supply chain finance.关键词
