摘要

Abstract

Critical importance is attached to the flow regulation performance and stability of rotary oil distribution valves used in high-pressure common-rail systems of diesel engines.A mathematical model describing the relation between valve port flow area and valve spool rotation angle is established,and numerical simulations of internal valve flow fields are performed with the computational fluid dynamics method.Simulations and analyses of pressure distribution,turbulent kinetic energy,and velocity field variations within a rotation angle range of 0°~12.5° are carried out via Fluent software under the operating conditions of 200 MPa inlet pressure and atmospheric outlet pressure.Mesh independence verification is implemented with seven groups of meshes at different densities,and approximately 2.6×10⁵ elements are identified as the optimal mesh scale balancing calculation accuracy and computational efficiency.It is revealed by the results that the valve port flow area is reduced with the growth of rotation angle,the flow resistance is raised remarkably,and the non-uniformity of pressure distribution inside the valve body is aggravated.When the rotation angle exceeds 10°,turbulent kinetic energy is increased by roughly 2.3 times compared with the initial working condition,and the fluctuation amplitude of outlet flow velocity is raised by around 18%,so the stability of flow control is degraded accordingly.It is demonstrated by the study that local vortex intensity is strengthened,energy loss is elevated,and velocity field non-uniformity is enlarged due to dynamic variations of geometric flow passages inside the rotary oil distribution valve.Quantitative references for structural optimization of rotary oil distribution valves under high-pressure environments are provided by the research findings,and great engineering significance is possessed for the improvement of fuel injection precision and stability of common rail systems.
