Abstract
The feasibility and effectiveness of the duo-trio test a sensory evaluation method for evaluating fragrance similarity in daily chemical products was investigated.Two independent experiments and a repeatability study were conducted using shower gel formulations to evaluate fragrance similarity among different production batches and between products before and after preservative formulation modifications.Approximately 30 healthy panelists participated in each evaluation.A constant-reference duo-trio protocol was employed under blind testing conditions for olfactory evaluation.Statistical analysis showed that the discrimination results between test and reference samples were highly significant(p<0.01).The proportions of panelists identifying the fragrances as matching the reference sample reached 92.9%and 92.3%in the two independent experiments,and 92.6%and 82.8%in the corresponding repeatability tests,respectively.These results demonstrate that the duo-trio test is a reliable and effective approach for evaluating fragrance similarity in daily chemical products.The method provides an objective sensory evaluation tool for customer complaint investigation,formulation change verification,and product quality control in industrial practice.关键词
