Pharmacognostic Study on Prinsepia Utilis Royle from Different Producing Regions

Abstract
Objective:Pharmacognosy research was separately carried out on the Prinsepia utilis Royle from different producing regions,so as to facilitate the formulation of quality standards and further development and utilization.Meth-ods:Pharmacognostical studies were conducted on Prinsepia utilis Royle in different production areas through pharma-cognostic research methods including physical identification,microscopic identification and physicochemical identifica-tion and other methods.Results:The results of the character research showed that the root of Lijiang Prinsepia utilis Royle davidiana is hard,the outer skin is the darkest,the root section is bright red,the water extraction solution is pur-ple,and the center of the stem section is pale yellow.Tengchong Prinsepia utilis Royle,The root texture is tough,the outer skin color is yellowish,the root section is light orange,the water extraction solution color is light orange,and the stem section center is grayish brown.The microscopic research results indicate that there are obvious differences in the cross-sectional area and powder characteristics in different production areas.Among them,the Lijiang Prinsepia utilis Royle and Tengchong Prinsepia utilis Royle can be clearly distinguished by the presence or absence of calcium oxalate crystals in the root powder.The powder of the Lijiang Prinsepia utilis Royle has calcium oxalate crystals and that pro-duced in Tengchong does not.By comparing the cross-section microstructure of the fruit,it was found that the propor-tion of fatty oil in the microstructure was larger in the Tengchong area than that in Lijiang area,indicating that there was a great room for development of fatty oil in this batch of Prinsepia utilis Royle from Tengchong production area during this collection period.The results of physical and chemical research show that Tengchong Prinsepia utilis Royle contains saponins,triterpenes,flavonoids and other components,and the study of thin-layer chromatography shows that the extracts of Prinsepia utilis Royle from both producing areas contain quercetin.Conclusion:There are obvious differences between the Prinsepia utilis Royle of Lijiang and those of Tengchong.This study can provide reference for the pharmacognosy identification,quality standard formulation,and further development and utilization of Prinsepia Utilis Royle in Lijiang and Tengchong production areas.关键词
