Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effects of percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP),basic anti-osteoporosis therapy combined with Bushen Jiangu Formula in elderly patients with osteoporotic lumbar compression fracture(OLCF).Method:A total of 70 elderly patients with OLCF who visited the Department of Orthopedics of Xi'an Lintong Boren Hospital from May 2023 to May 2025 were included and divided into the control group(35 cases)and the treatment group(35 cases)by the random number table method.Both groups were treated with PVP.The control group was given Calcium Carbonate D3,Alfacalcidol and Alendronate Sodium after the operation,while the treatment group was given the Bushen Jiangu Formula on the basis of the control group.The treatment course was 3 months for both groups.The recovery rates of the anterior edge height of the vertebral body,as well as the VAS scores,Oswestry disability index(ODI)scores,Cobb angles of the injured vertebrae,serum bone formation markers[procollagen type Ⅰ N-terminal propeptide(P1NP),bone-specific alkaline phosphatase(BALP)],and bone resorption markers[β-C-terminal telopeptide of type Ⅰ collagen(β-CTX),tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b(TRACP-5b)]before and after treatment,occurrence of adverse events were observed and compared.Result:During this study period,dropout and exclusion:3 cases in the control group,2 cases in the treatment group,a total of 65 patients completed the entire study.After treatment,the VAS scores,ODI in both groups decreased than those of before treatment,and Cobb angles of the injured vertebrae were significantly improved compared with those before treatment,and the indexes in the treatment group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).The recovery rate of anterior vertebral height in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of serum P1NP and BALP in both groups were significantly increased compared with those before treatment,while the levels of serum β-CTX and TRACP-5b were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment,and the indexes in the treatment group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).No adverse events occurred in either group during the treatment period.Conclusion:Based on PVP and basic anti-osteoporosis therapy,the additional application of Bushen Jiangu Formula can more effectively relieve pain,improve lumbar function,and promote vertebral morphological recovery in elderly OLCF patients.Its mechanism of action may be related to the bidirectional regulation of bone metabolism,promoting bone formation and inhibiting bone resorption.关键词
