Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of different-frequency acupuncture combined with Xiang Sha Li Zhong Tang(costusroot and amomum center-regulating decoction)in the treatment of functional dyspepsia(FD).
Methods:Ninety patients with FD were selected and randomly assigned into a study group and a control group using a random number table method,with 45 patients in each group.Both groups received oral administration of Xiang Sha Li Zhong Tang.The study group additionally received acupuncture treatment once daily,whereas the control group additionally received acupuncture treatment once every other day.After 4 weeks of treatment,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)symptom score,clinical efficacy,Nepean dyspepsia symptom index(NDSI),Nepean dyspepsia life quality index(NDLQI),and treatment safety were evaluated in both groups.
Results:After 4 weeks of treatment,the total effective rate was 95.6%in the study group,which was higher than 82.2%in the control group(P<0.05).Compared with baseline,the scores of primary symptoms,secondary symptoms,and total TCM symptoms decreased after treatment in both groups(P<0.05),and all three scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the NDSI score decreased(P<0.05),and the NDLQI score increased(P<0.05)in both groups compared with baseline;the NDSI score was lower,and the NDLQI score was higher in the study group than in the control group(P<0.05).No serious adverse events occurred in either group during treatment,indicating good safety.
Conclusion:On the basis of oral administration of Xiang Sha Li Zhong Tang,daily acupuncture treatment can better improve clinical symptoms and enhance quality of life in patients with FD compared with acupuncture treatment administered once every other day.关键词
