Xin'an Medical School Physician Wang Ji's Development and Application of Zhu Danxi's Theory of Xianghuo
摘要
Abstract
[Objective]To explore the development and application of Zhu Danxi's theory of Xianghuo by Wang Ji,a physician from Xin'an medical school,and to summaris clinical insights.[Methods]Through literature reading and case analysis,sort out the origin of the formation of Xianghuo theory,clarify the innovation of Wang Ji's understanding of Xianghuo theory on the basis of Zhu Danxi's Xianghuo theory,and analyze Wang Ji's treatment of pathological Xianghuo,and put forward enlightenment for clinical practice.[Results]The concept of Xianghuo initially evolved from the fire of nature and the five phases into the fire of life.By the Jin and Yuan periods,it had integrated with the triple-Jiao and the vital gate system,By the time of Zhu Danxi,the theory of Xianghuo had matured,by the mid-Ming periods,many physicians failed to grasp Zhu's original intent.Wang Ji of the Ming Dynasty started from the disadvantages of nourishing Yin and reducing fire,to emphasise"sovereign fire should be quiet"from"Yin is usually excessive while Yang is frequently deficient"in five types of Yang fire.Wang Ji initiated combine the primordial Qi with the"weakness of Xianghuo"from the spleen and stomach.In the case examples,for cases of abdominal pain caused by"deficiency of Yin with Xianghuo",the treatment principles are to tonify original Qi,nourish kidney Yin,and clear Xianghuo.For cases of spleen-stomach Xianghuo with deficiency-heat,the treatment principles are to strengthen primordial Qi,tonify the spleen and stomach,and eliminate deficiency-heat.It is suggested that in modern clinical practice,attention should be paid to the relationship between Xianghuo and primordial Qi in internal medicine miscellaneous diseases and acute and critical diseases,and the prosperity and decline of Xianghuo should be distinguished in the case of Xianghuo in order to support Yang,and the heart and kidney should be strengthened in the prevention and treatment of diseases.[Conclusion]Based on Zhu Danxi's theory of"Yang is usually excessive while Yin is frequently deficient",Wang Ji sought to correct the misuse of bitter-cold Yin-nourishing medicaments by physicians in the mid-Ming Dynasty.By proposing the theory that"the nutrient Qi and defensive Qi originate from the same source",Wang Ji advocated for a pattern-based differentiation and treatment of pathological Xianghuo,employing methods such as"nourishing Yin to lower the evil fire"as well as"tonifying the spleen and stomach to protect the primordial Qi".Wang Ji's innovative integration of"primordial Qi"with the"weakness of Xianghuo"served as a crucial transitional link in the academic shift toward the development of the Wenbing school.关键词
