Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of early enteral nutrition(EEN)combined with antibiotic therapy on nutritional indexes, immune function and high mobility group box protein B1(HMGB1)in patients with severe pneumonia. Methods A prospective cohort study enrolled 78 patients with severe pneumonia admitted to our hospital from April 2024 to April 2025,and block randomization was used to divide patients into a study group and a control group, with 39 cases in each group. The study group received early enteral nutrition combined with antibiotic therapy, while the control group received antibiotic therapy. The effects of the two treatment regimens on nutritional indicators, immune function, and HMGB1 levels in severe pneumonia patients were compared. Results At various time points after the treatment, both groups exhibited varying degrees of reduction in total protein(TP),albumin(ALB),hemoglobin(HGB),and HMGB1 levels compared to pre-treatment levels.CD3+,CD4+,and CD4+/CD8+values increased in both groups relative to pre-treatment levels. However,at 1 and 2 weeks after the treatment, the study group exhibited significantly higher levels of TP,ALB,HGB,CD3+,CD4+,and CD4+/CD8+compared to the con-trol group, while HMGB1 levels were significantly lower(P<0.05).Conclusion EEN combined with antibiotics effectively im-proves nutritional status and immune function in patients with severe pneumonia, and plays a crucial role in reducing HMGB1 levels.关键词
