Research on the impact mechanism of artificial intelligence adoption on the environmental performance of manufacturing enterprises

Abstract
The integration of artificial and human intelligence in the ongoing technological revolution are accelerating the green transformation and development of enterprises to a new stage.As an important catalyst for enterprise technological innovation,artificial intelligence not only promotes the high-quality development of enterprises,but also provides innovative solutions for improving the environmental performance of China's manufacturing industry.This study adopts text mining to analyze the data of A-share manufacturing enterprises inChina from 2010 to 2024,and examines whether the application of artificial intelligence improves the environmental performance of manufacturing enterprises through three mechanisms:direct transmission,indirect transmission,and heterogeneous transmission.This study aims to deeply explore the internal mechanism of artificial intelligence application affecting enterprise environmental performance by constructing specific indicators of artificial intelligence adoption at the micro level.The research results open up a new path for Chinese manufacturing enterprises to improve their modern environmental governance capabilities.The application of artificial intelligence indirectly improves the environmental performance of manufacturing enterprises by promoting green technology innovation,accelerating interdisciplinary knowledge integration,and improving green total factor productivity.In addition,when examining the heterogeneity characteristics of enterprises,the study finds that heterogeneity tests reveal distinct effects between non-state-owned enterprises and low-pollution manufacturers.The impact of artificial intelligence implementation on enterprise environmental performance is becoming increasingly prominent,and this paper provides a new empirical basis for artificial intelligence technology to improve enterprise environmental performance.The research results provide a feasible path to promote technological innovation and sustainable development of manufacturing enterprises.关键词
