Abstract
Against the backdrop of global low-carbon transition in the shipping industry and increasingly stringent emission reduction requirements imposed by the International Maritime Organization(IMO),the European Union Emissions Trading System(EU ETS),and FuelEU Maritime, liquefied natural gas(LNG)has become an important transitional alternative fuel for ocean-going vessels and Asia has emerged as a key growth region for the global LNG ship-to-ship bunkering market. This paper selects such five key Asian markets as China,Singapore,Malaysia,Japan, and South Korea, systematically analyzes the market scale, port distribution, and structural characteristics of receiving vessels in the LNG ship-to-ship bunkering sector in 2025,and compares the differences in industrial development models among countries. The results find that the Asian bunkering market presents obvious regional differentiation.China, driven by improved bonded bunkering facilities and strong demand from container vessels, has become the largest LNG bunkering market in Asia in terms of bunkering volume,Singapore maintains long-term core competitiveness by virtue of its strategic shipping location and global service network,Malaysia absorbs regional spillover demand,Japan focuses on localized and niche bunkering supply, and South Korea's market continues to shrink with excessive dependence on its shipbuilding industry.Policy restrictions, resource endowments, shipping industrial foundations, vessel demand structures, and corporate industrial chain layouts are the key factors leading to regional differentiation. To address existing development constraints,it puts forward optimization recommendations concerning balanced infrastructure deployment, cost control, diversified market expansion, and industrial chain coordination.关键词
