摘要
Abstract
Objective To develop a scale for assessing nursing students' willingness to engage in geriatric nursing and test its reliability and validity. Methods Guided by the theory of planned behavior,an initial scale was constructed through liter-ature analysis and expert consultation.A pre-survey was conducted among 32 undergraduate nursing students from grade'to 4 in geriatric nursing major at Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September to December 2016 to verify the clarity of scale item expressions and operability of response completion.A formal survey was then carried out on 186 nursing students of the same major, and the final scale was formed via item analysis, exploratory factor analysis,as well as reliability and validity tests. Results The scale consisted of 14 items across three dimensions, namely behavioral attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control. The item-level content validity index(I-CVI)of the scale ranged from 0.83 to 1.00,and the scale-level average content validity index(S-CVI/Ave)was 0.91.Three common factors were extracted after two rounds of exploratory factor analysis, accounting for a total of 65.580%of the cumulative variance. The correlation coefficients be-tween each dimension and the total scale ranged from 0.629 to 0.892,and those among the dimensions ranged from 0.237 to 0.600.The Cronbach's α coefficient of the total scale was 0.886,the split-half reliability was 0.784,and the test-retest re-liability was 0.867.Conclusion The developed scale is rationally designed with good reliability and validity, and it can be used as a valid and reliable instrument to evaluate nursing students' willingness to engage in geriatric nursing work.关键词
