Research Progress on Pollinator Species and Pollination Behavior of Wurfbainia villosa

Abstract
Wurfbainia villosa has been cultivated in China for over 1 300 years.Its dried fruit,known as"Amomi Fruc-tus"(Sharen),is one of the renowned"Four Major Southern Medicinal Herbs,"as well as one of the"Top Ten Guangdong Me-dicinal Herbs"and"Top Ten Yunnan Medicinal Herbs."It has been included in successive editions of the Chinese Pharmaco-poeia and is one of the fastest-growing representative varieties of southern medicinal herbs with both medicinal and food uses over the past two decades,possessing extremely high medicinal and economic value.In China,W.villosa is primarily culti-vated in Yunnan,Guangdong,and Hainan.Low yields have long been a persistent problem in W.villosa production,and insuf-ficient pollination is a major factor limiting its yield.Insect pollination is one of the key methods for increasing W.villosa yields.Through a review of the literature,this paper provides a systematic overview and outlook on the main factors affecting W.villosa yield,the species and pollination behaviors of W.villosa pollinators,and future research trends.This article aims to provide guidance on addressing pollination issues in W.villosa cultivation,thereby promoting the large-scale and standardized ecological cultivation of W.villosa,which is of great significance to the sustainable development of the W.villosa industry chain.关键词
