Effect of lifting-thrusting and twirling needling manipulations of different frequencies on temperature and Qi arrival at point Zhongwan(CV12)in patients with obesity of spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction type

Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of lifting-thrusting and twirling needling manipulations of different frequencies on temperature and Qi arrival at point Zhongwan(CV12)in patients with overweight and obesity of spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction type.Method One hundred and twenty patients with overweight and obesity of spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction type were included and randomized to groups A1,A2,B1 and B2,with 30 cases in each group.Lifting-thrusting or twirling needling manipulations of different frequencies were performed at point Zhongwan in the four groups.Group A1 received lifting-thrusting manipulation at a frequency of 60 times/min;group A2,lifting-thrusting manipulation at a frequency of 120 times/min;group B1,twirling manipulation at a frequency of 60 times/min;group B2,twirling manipulation at a frequency of 120 times/min.Temperature at point Zhongwan was observed before and after needling manipulation in the four groups.The first time and the number of Qi arrivals were compared between the four groups.Result After needling manipulation,temperature at point Zhongwan rose in group A1(P＜0.05)and fell in group A2(P＜0.05)compared with before.Pre-/post-needling manipulation difference value of temperature at point Zhongwan had a statistically significant difference between groups A1 and A2(P＜0.05).The first time and the number of Qi arrivals had no statistically significant differences between the four groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Lifting-thrusting manipulation of low frequency can raise and lifting-thrusting manipulation of high frequency can reduce temperature at point Zhongwan in patients with overweight and obesity of spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction type.The degree of temperature rise is larger than that of temperature drop.关键词
