Symbolic System,Cultural Connotation and Contemporary Transformation of Plant Weaving Intangible Cultural Heritage:A Case Study of Rattan Weaving

Abstract
As an important component of traditional Chinese craftsmanship,plant weaving intangible cultural heritage(ICH)bears both practical functions and profound cultural implications.However,systematic academic interpretation lacks regarding the formation logic of its symbolic system and the generation mechanism of its cultural connotations.Taking rattan weaving as a case,this paper analyzes the structural characteristics of rattan weaving symbols in terms of form,color and handicraft skill,and analyzes its pathways to translational innovation in the contemporary scenario of ICH conservation,cross-sector cooperation and digital communications with consideration of historical inheritance and regional cultural context.Feasible strategies are proposed for the plant weaving ICH preservation from the value-based speculative perspective.The study demonstrates that the symbolic system of rattan weaving constitutes a meaning-generating framework co-constructed by formal patterning,chromatic expression,and artisanal craftsmanship.Rooted in specific historical circumstances and regional features,rattan weaving symbols confront the dual challenges of excessive consumption and the attenuation of cultural connotations in contemporary communication.Only by establishing the dominant position of weaving communities in cultural narration can a long-term balance between commercial exploitation and living inheritance of intangible cultural heritage be achieved.关键词
