From"cosmic Yin-Yang"to"winter latency and spring warmth":Pathogenesis and stage-specific prevention of pediatric Chunwen

Abstract
Pediatric influenza is an acute respiratory infectious disease that severely threatens children's health in winter-spring seasons.This condition,classified as pediatric Chunwen in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),presents significant clinical challenges due to its high transmissibility,abrupt onset,rapid progression,and tendency to cause severe complications.The present study explores the etiology,pathogenesis,and stage-specific management of pediatric Chunwen based on the Huangdi Neijing theory of"cosmic Yin-Yang"and"failure to conserve essence in winter leads to warm disease in spring",integrating the pediatric constitutional paradigm of"tender Yin-Yang constitution with three deficiencies and two excesses(san xu er shi)".This study applies the theoretical paradigm of"cosmic Yin-Yang—winter latency and spring warmth"across the full spectrum of prevention and treatment.It proposes a sequential pathogenic model summarized as"winter latency → spring onset → progression → recovery",emphasizing the evolutionary trajectory of latent cold pathogens in winter and their manifestation with ascending Yang energy in spring.Corresponding therapeutic strategies are established for each stage.This study aims to provide novel theoretical perspectives and evidence-based guidance for clinical management and future research on pediatric influenza.关键词
