Abstract
The Teach ECE(early childhood education)classroom quality assessment tool, developed by the World Bank specifically for low-and middle-income countries, provides a relatively comprehensive picture of core elements in early childhood education, including the quality of teacher-child interactions, the duration of engagement, and the structural resources supporting the teaching and learning process. It assists teachers in observing, discussing, and improving teaching quality across diverse classroom settings. This paper attempts to examine the tool's content and implementation, beginning with an exploration of its development background. It investigates key aspects such as the indicator structure, implementation procedures, field application, and scoring protocols.Furthermore,it identifies and synthesizes the distinctive features of Teach ECE from three perspectives, namely theoretical framework, measurement design, and implementation procedures, with the aim of drawing implications for relevant practices and policies in China.关键词
