Abstract
Objective To investigate the impact of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)directional drug penetration combined with unicompartmental knee arthroplasty(UKA)on rehabilitation effect in elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods 60 elderly patients with KOA admitted to Zhoukou First People's Hospital from January 2023 to January 2025 were retrospectively enrolled.According to the surgical regimen, they were divided into the surgery group(30 cases, treated with UKA alone)and the TCM combination group(30 cases, treated with TCM directional drug penetration combined with UKA).The pain degree,TCM syndrome score, inflammatory indicators, knee range of motion(ROM)and function, gait parameters, and complications were compared between the two groups. Results 2 weeks after surgery, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score,TCM syndrome score, and serum levels of IL-6,TNF-α and CRP in the TCM combination group were lower than those in the surgery group, while the ROM,Hospital for Special Surgery(HSS)knee score,Berg Balance Scale(BBS)score, cadence, gait speed and step length were higher than those in the surgery group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions TCM directional drug penetration combined with UKA can effectively relieve pain and TCM syndromes, inhibit inflammatory response, improve knee joint function and balance function, and optimize ROM and gait parameters in elderly patients with KOA,with favorable safety.关键词
