摘要
Abstract
Graphene's outstanding electrical, thermal, mechanical, and chemical properties make it a promising material for electronics, energy storage, protective coat-ings,catalysis,and environmental remediation.Neverthe-less,its large-scale use is hindered by high synthesis costs, process complexities, and integration issues.Among the available methods for its production, chemical vapor de-position(CVD)on metals is the most scalable,in which copper is widely used because of its low carbon solubility and excellent monolayer control. However,Cu substrates are costly($8-10/kg),subsequent transfer steps introduce defects, and the obtained graphene is poorly matched to structural components.Iron-based substrates provide an at-tractive alternative, offering much lower material cost,dir-ect compatibility with steel infrastructure, reduced growth temperatures, and intrinsic functionalities such as magnet-ism and catalytic activity that enable new applications. The growth of graphene on pure iron, iron alloys, and iron-Based on nanoparticles is analyzed, focusing on growth mechanisms, substrate engineering, and characterization approaches tailored to specific challenges like carbide formation.Ap-plications including corrosion-resistant coatings, electronics, energy storage, catalysis, water treatment, and electromagnetic shielding are considered.Despite the limitation of high carbon solubility, iron can be exploited for controlled multilayer forma-tion which is useful for barrier and energy applications, while alloying and process control enable the production of tunable mono layer or few-layer films, making iron-based CVD graphene a versatile,cost-effective platform.关键词
