Survey on the current status of preoperative skin preparation for cranioce-rebral surgery in Guizhou Province
摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the current practice of preoperative skin preparation for craniocerebral surgery in secondary and tertiary hospitals in Guizhou Province, and to provide a basis for promoting standardized skin preparation practices. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted via questionnaire from March to April 2025 among hospitals performing craniocerebral surgery at or above the secondary level in the province. The survey covered aspects including preoperative skin preparation methods, specific operational procedures, tools used, and quality management.Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and the chi-square test. Results A total of 100 hospitals performing craniocerebral surgery participated in the survey, including 51 tertiary hospitals and 49 secondary hospitals. The proportion of emergency surgeries was higher than that of elective surgeries(79.0%vs.21.0%).Skin preparation was performed in the ward in 84.0%of the hospitals, and 84.0%completed the preparation on the day of surgery.Full-head hair clipping was the predominant preparation area(65.0%).Reusable electric clippers were the primary skin preparation tool(66.0%),and the compliance rate with the"one person, one use,one disinfection"principle for reusable tools was 69.6%.Only 27.0%of hospitals had established specific protocols for skin preparation.Hospitals with a higher volume of elective surgeries demonstrated signifi-cantly higher compliance rates with hair washing before/after skin preparation(95.2%vs.73.4%,P=0.032)and a greater proportion of preoperative skin preparation supervision mechanisms established(76.2%vs.45.6%,P=0.013)compared to hospitals with a higher volume of emergency surgeries.Tertiary hospitals had a significantly higher skin preparation documentation rate than secondary hospitals(60.8%vs.36.7%,P=0.016).Conclusion In our province, there remains significant room for improvement in operational standardization, quality manage-ment,and resource allocation for preoperative skin preparation in craniocerebral surgery.Secondary hospitals show significant shortcomings in tool availability, information recording, and quality supervision;hospitals with a high proportion of emergency surgeries lag notably in implementation of cleaning procedures and the establishment of supervision mechanisms. It is urgent to develop tiered and category-specific interventions to prevent surgical site infections.关键词
