Abstract
Objective:To investigate the association between Type D personality and glycemic control in community-dwelling patients with diabetes,and to explore the chain mediating roles of metacognitive beliefs and social participation based on the biopsychosocial model.Methods:A convenience sample of 1,018 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus was recruited from communities in Harbin.Participants were assessed using the Type D Personality Scale(DS-14),the 30-item Metacognitions Questionnaire(MCQ-30),and the Impact on Participation and Autonomy Questionnaire(IPA).Glycemic control was measured by laboratory-tested glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)levels.Results:Correlation analysis showed that scores of Type D personality,metacognitive beliefs,and social participation were significantly positively correlated with HbA1c levels.Mediation analysis revealed that Type D personality had a significant direct effect on glycemic control.Meta-cognitive beliefs and social participation not only independently mediated the relationship between Type D personality and glycemic control but also acted as sequential mediators in this relationship.Conclusion:Type D personality not only di-rectly predicts poorer glycemic control but also exerts indirect effects through the independent and chain mediating roles of metacognitive beliefs and social participation in community patients with diabetes.关键词
