Abstract
Objective:To investigate the intervention efficacy of treatment-concurrent group psychological in-tervention on post-traumatic growth in patients with metastatic breast cancer.Methods:A total of 550 patients with metastatic breast cancer were recruited from a hospital's department of breast medicine.Eighty-one patients with a score of＜61.9 on the Chinese Post-Traumatic Growth Inventory(C-PTGI)were randomly assigned to either the intervention group(n=40)and the control group(n=41).The control group received routine nursing care,while the intervention group in addition to routine care,received group psychological counseling intervention(group inter-vention)once every(21±3)days,for a total of six sessions.The C-PTGI,Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),and European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30(EORTC QLQ-C30)were used for assessment at baseline,immediately post-intervention,and at 4-week and 12-week post-intervention.Results:Seven participants in the intervention group and five in the control group dropped out.Assessments at three time points post-intervention,the intervention group scored significantly higher than the control group on the C-PTGI,CD-RISC,and the global quality of life,emotional functioning,cognitive functioning,and social functioning scales of the EORTC QLQ-C30(Ps＜0.05).Conclusion:Treatment-concurrent group inter-vention scan effectively initiate and strengthen positive cognitive restructuring and meaning-making processes asso-ciated with post-traumatic growth in patients with metastatic breast cancer.Furthermore,it contributes to improved psychological resilience and quality of life.关键词
