Effectiveness of an Integrated MedicalSurgical Teaching Model in Coronary Artery Disease Education for Standardized Specialists Training in Cardiovascular Surgery

Abstract
Objective To explore the effectiveness of an integrated medical-surgical teaching model in the coronary ar-tery disease education for physicians undergoing standardized specialist training in cardiovascular surgery.Methods A total of 70 trainees receiving standardized specialists training in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University from January 2020 to January 2025 were enrolled and randomly divided into the control group and the intervention group by block randomization.Both groups were equipped with identical cardiovascular surgery faculty.The intervention group received integrated multidisciplinary instruction jointly delivered by cardiology and cardiovascular surgery faculty.The two groups were compared with respect to scores on the final theoretical and practical examinations of coronary ar-tery disease,as well as scores obtained from a questionnaire evaluating teaching effectiveness.Results The intervention group achieved significantly higher scores than the control group in theoretical knowledge of coronary artery disease,medical history taking,physical examination,and procedural skills assessment(all P<0.05).The intervention group also reported significantly higher levels of learning interest,self-directed learning initiative andoverall satisfaction with the teaching program(all P<0.05).Conclusion The integrated medical-surgical teaching model effectively improves both theoretical knowledge and clinical com-petencies related to coronary artery disease among cardiovascular surgery trainees.This multidisciplinary teaching approach may therefore have substantial value in coronary artery disease education within standardized specialist training programs.关键词
