Establishment of a Pharmaceutical Service Guarantee System for Botulinum Antitoxin in Medical Institutions

Abstract
Objective To establish a pharmaceutical service guarantee system for botulinum antitoxin(BAT)in medical institutions.Methods The SWOT analysis method was adopted to systematically review the internal strengths and weaknesses,as well as the external opportunities and threats,related to hospital BAT management,based on which matching strategies were formulated.A pharmaceutical service guarantee system was then established,covering standardized treatment,multi-department collaboration,medication management,anaphylaxis prevention and control,and regional interconnection.Results After the establishment of the system,the response arrival time for BAT was shortened from previously uncertain durations to 12-48 h.Among the 29 patients with botulism poisoning admitted in the first half of 2025,16 patients with indications for BAT treatment were treated within 24 h of admission,and mild anaphylaxis appeared in only one case.Conclusion The system effectively resolves the timeliness and safety challenges in clinical BAT application.Although challenges remain regarding drug supply-demand reserves and allergy risks,it provides a reproducible management framework for other medical institutions,and a data monitoring system will be established in the future for continuous quality improvement.关键词
