Research Progress on the Etiology and Epidemiology of Ovine Pulmonary Adenomatosis

Abstract
Ovine pulmonary adenocarcinoma(OPA)is a highly fatal and contagious neoplastic disease in sheep caused by infection with jaagsiekte sheep retrovirus(JSRV),resulting in severe economic losses to the global sheep industry.However,current studies on OPA and JSRV remain relatively fragmented.The envelope(Env)protein encoded by the JSRV genome is considered the major pathogenic factor.By binding to the Hyal2 receptor,Env induces a series of signaling pathways and thereby mediates the principal pathogenic mechanisms.This review systematically summarizes the etiological characteristics of JSRV,the pathogenesis of OPA,and its epidemiology and prevention strategies.In addition,future research directions are discussed from three aspects,including the development of novel vaccines,the application of artificial intelligence technologies,and the use of gene-editing approaches,with the aim of providing a theoretical basis for the prevention and control of OPA.关键词
