摘要
Abstract
To enhance the low-temperature impact resistance of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride(CPVC),powdered styrene-butadiene rubber(PSBR)and dioctyl adipate(DOA)were employed as a toughening agent and plasticizer,respectively.PSBR/CPVC and PSBR/DOA/CPVC compounds were prepared by melt blending. The effects of PSBR content on im-pact strength at various temperatures, tensile properties, flame retardancy,Vicat softening temperature, thermal stabili-ty,and fracture morphology were systematically investigated for both CPVC and DOA/CPVC systems. Results showed that incorporating 1 or 3 phr of PSBR into CPVC increased the notched impact strength by 30.4%and 41.0%at 15℃,and by 54.5%at both-15℃and-30℃,respectively.An appropriate PSBR loading also improved the Vicat soften-ing temperature, elongation at break, and thermal stability. However, excessive PSBR led to poor dispersion and agglom-eration,causing a significant decline in overall mechanical performance. The addition of 10 phr DOA promoted finer dis-persion of PSBR particles within the CPVC matrix, albeit with reductions in tensile strength, limiting oxygen index, and Vicat softening temperature.Owing to the synergistic toughening effect of DOA and PSBR,the PSBR/DOA/CPVC(5/10/95)formulation exhibits the best balanced properties.Compared with neat CPVC,this compound achieved impact strength increases of 437.8%,98.7%,and 175.0%at 15℃,-15℃,and-30℃,respectively,while retaining rela-tively high tensile strength(36.5 MPa),elongation at break(22.9%),and limiting oxygen index(33.0%).关键词
