Analysis of the Path for Improving Rural Residents'Health Level Through the Enhancement of County-level Public Transportation Facilities

Abstract
Objective To analyze the impact of public transportation facilities on the health level of rural residents and regional differences,so as to provide references for better promoting health equality and advancing the construction of Healthy China.Methods Based on panel data from 1 109 counties aross China from 2010 to 2021,a fixed effects model was employed to test the influence of public transportation facility levels on rural residents'health.Results Public transportation facilities had a significant positive impact on the health level of rural residents.Furthermore,there were regional differences in the impact of public transportation facilities on the health level of rural residents:in the central and western regions where transportation facilities were underdeveloped,public transportation facilities had a more significant positive impact on the health level of rural residents,while the significance was slightly lower in the eastern region.Conclusion The improvement of county-level public transportation facilities has direct positive health effects on rural residents.Therefore,enhancing public transportation infrastructure,particularly by increasing investment in public transportation facilities in less developed regions and facilitating micro-circulation within public transport networks,can further improve county-level public transportation facilities.This provides a pathway to address the dual contradictions of health inequality between urban and rural areas and the expansion of health demands.关键词
