Research Progress and Future Directions of Green Electricity Certificates
摘要
Abstract
To systematically review the progress and limitations of research on green electricity certificates,this study analyzes 95 English-language and 34 Chinese-language studies using systematic a literature review.The results show that renewable energy consumption obligations,project eligibility,and issuance and retirement rules first shape certificate supply and demand.Compliance deadlines,market concentration,electricity prices,and carbon prices jointly affect certificate prices and market liquidity,while contractual and financing conditions further influence whether price signals translate into corporate investment and procurement.Existing studies remain dominated by model-based analyses,and data on issuance,trading,holdings,retirement,projects,and firms have not yet been integrated,making it difficult to establish a continuous micro-level evidence chain linking institutional design,market operation,firm behavior,and environmental outcomes.For China,future research should examine coordination between unified issuance and multiple trading platforms,nationwide certificate flows and provincial consumption obligations,and the environmental attributes represented by certificates and related electricity and carbon mechanisms,while identifying environmental additionality,sources of price volatility,and the net effects of policy combinations.关键词
