A New Dimension in Ecological Critique of Capitalism:Harvey's Historical-Geographical Materialist Perspective
摘要
Abstract
David Harvey attempts to develop a historical-geographical materialist approach to understanding society-environment relations,so as to incorporate the nonhuman world into its analytical framework and to comprehend ecological issues from a spatial perspective. This approach rests on the ontological premise that nature is not external to society and highlights the influence of specific socio-political relations on changes in nature. On this basis,Harvey re-examines the relationship between capital and nature, showing how capital creates a monistic capital-nature ecological system through the"production of nature".He further elucidates the ecological paradoxes and socio-ecological alienation generated by this relational structure under the logic of capital accumulation, thereby identifying the capitalist roots of ecological crises and the possibilities of resistance.Harvey then seeks to establish a theoretical dialogue between Marxism and various currents of ecological thought, orient ecological movements toward socialist movements, and,on this basis, advance an ecosocialist political vision, aiming to realize the parallel advancement of the liberation of nature and human emancipation.Harvey's ecological critique, grounded in historical-geographical materialism, introduces a spatial perspective into Marxist ecological analysis, traces ecological problems to the internal contradictions of the capitalist production of space, offers new ideas for anti-capitalist struggle, and provides valuable insights into the formation of green spatial configurations.关键词
