Mediating Effect of Early Post-Discharge Coping Styles of Preterm Infants on the Relationship Be-tween Parental Psychological Resilience and Coping Competence

Abstract
Objective To explore the mediating effects and specific paths of coping modes on the relationship between psychological resilience and coping ability in parents of preterm infants after discharge,and clarify the mechanisms by which psychological resilience affects parents'coping ability,aiming to provide evidence for developing targeted psychological interventions.Methods From January 2024 to June 2025,392 parents of preterm infants were selected from Ganzhou Women and Children's Health Care Hospital by convenience sampling.They were surveyed using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),the Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ),and the Coping Ability Questionnaire for Parents of Preterm Infants After Discharge.Multivariate linear regression was performed to identify independent factors influencing parents'coping ability after discharge of preterm infants.A structural equation model was constructed using Amos to analyze the mediating effects of coping modes on the relationship between psychological resilience and coping ability.Results After discharge,the parents'psychological resilience score was(60.30±10.54)points,the confrontation coping score was(20.21±3.90)points,the avoidance coping score was(18.15±3.49)points,and the coping ability score was(123.94±14.85)points.Multivariate linear regression showed that the presence or absence of severe complications in preterm infants,psychological resilience,confrontation coping,and avoidance coping were independent factors influencing parents'coping ability after discharge(P<0.05 for all).The structural equation model showed that psychological resilience and confrontation coping positively affected coping ability,whereas avoidance coping negatively affected coping ability,with standardized path coefficients of 0.275,0.326,and-0.294,respectively(P<0.05 for all).Both confrontation coping and avoidance coping partially mediated the relationship between psychological resilience and coping ability,with path coefficients of 0.136 and 0.094,respectively,and effect proportions of 30.63%and 21.17%,respectively;the 95%CIs for both mediating paths did not contain 0,indicating significant mediating effects(P<0.05).Conclusion Both confrontation coping and avoidance coping partially mediate the relationship between psychological resilience and coping ability in parents of preterm infants after discharge,with significant mediating effects.This suggests that clinical efforts should target both resilience enhancement and coping optimization to synergistically boost parents'coping ability.关键词
