Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of adding metoprolol to conventional therapy and atorvastatin on angina severity,cardiac function,and quality of life in patients with chronic stable coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods A total of 200 patients with chronic stable CHD treated at Nanzhang Health Center of Lankao County from January 2022 to January 2026 were enrolled and randomly divided into a study group and a control group,with 100 patients in each group.This study adopted an open-label design with single blinding of outcome assessors.The control group received atorvastatin combined with conventional interventions,whereas the study group received metoprolol in addition to the treatment provided for the control group.Angina severity[assessed using the Seattle Angina Questionnaire(SAQ)],cardiac function parameters,quality of life[assessed using the Short Form-36 Health Survey(SF-36)],and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results After 6 months of treatment,all dimensions of the SAQ scores were higher in the study group than in the control group.Left ventricular ejection fraction,stroke volume,and cardiac output were higher,whereas left ventricular end-systolic diameter,left ventricular end-diastolic diameter,and resting heart rate were lower in the study group than in the control group.All dimensions of the SF-36 scores were also higher in the study group than in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in cardiac index between the two groups(P＞0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was also not significantly different between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion In patients with chronic stable CHD classified as Canadian Cardiovascular Society(CCS)grade Ⅰ～Ⅱ,adding metoprolol to atorvastatin and conventional therapy provides additional benefits,helping relieve angina symptoms,improve some cardiac function parameters,and enhance quality of life without significantly increasing the incidence of adverse reactions.关键词
