The Effect of Visual Feedback Balance Training Combined with Progressive Resistance Elastic Band Technique on Lower Limb Movement and Balance Function in Stroke Patients with Hemiplegia

Abstract
Objective:To observe the effects of visual feedback balance training combined with progressive resistance elastic band technique on lower limb movement and balance function in stroke patients with hemiplegia.Method:Sixty stroke patients with hemiplegia who received treatment at the Rehabilitation Center of the Second Veteran Hospital of Shandong Province from December 2023 to December 2024 were selected and divided into a control group and an observation group by the random number table method,with 30 patients in each group.Both groups underwent conventional rehabilitation treatment.The control group additionally received progressive resistance elastic band training,while the observation group further incorporated visual feedback balance training on the basis of the control group's regimen.The treatment lasted for 4 weeks.Before and after treatment,relevant indicators of balance function and lower limb movement function were assessed and compared between the two groups.Result:After 4 weeks of treatment,both groups of patients showed significant improvement in the 10-meter walk test(10MWT)and timed up and go test(TUGT)time,total area of center of gravity trajectory with eyes open and closed,total length of center of gravity trajectory with eyes open and closed,Fugl-Meyer assessment of lower extremity(FMA-LE)score,and Berg balance scale(BBS)score compared to before treatment(P<0.05).Furthermore,the observation group had significantly faster 10MWT and higher scores in FMA-LE,and BBS than those in the control group(P<0.05),while the total area of center of gravity trajectory with eyes open and closed and total length of center of gravity trajectory with eyes open and closed were significantly smaller in the observation group than those in the control group,and the TUGT time was significantly shorter than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Visual feedback balance training combined with progressive resistance elastic band technique can effectively improve lower limb movement and balance function in stroke patients with hemiplegia.关键词
