Abstract
Liver-kidney homology,also known as Yigui homology,is an important theory elaborating the close correlation between liver and kidney.Liver and kidney are closely connected physiologically and mutually affected pathologically.Its connotation mainly includes three aspects:Firstly,essence and blood intergenerate mutually.Liver stores blood while the kidney stores essence,and liver Yin nourishes kidney Yin mutually.Secondly,both reside lower Jiao and harbor ministerial fire.Both liver and kidney contain ministerial fire originating from the life gate.Only when liver and kidney Yin and Yang are coordinated can ministerial fire function normally.Thirdly,meridians share intercommunication and are governed by eight extraordinary meridians.Liver and kidney meridians are closely related in circulation.Liver and kidney nourish and restrict each other mutually.Liver governs free flow of Qi and opens into the eye,and stores blood to generate tears.Kidney governs water and body fluid,which transforms into tears in the eyes.Therefore,dry eye is closely associated with liver and kidney disorders.Clinically,this theory bears great guiding significance for diseases induced by liver and kidney dysfunction.Based on the theory of"Yigui homology,simultaneous regulation of liver and kidney",this paper adopts therapies such as tonifying liver via tonifying kidney,purging kidney via purging liver,and simultaneous regulation of liver and kidney to restore human Yin and Yang balance,embodying the holistic concept and syndrome differentiation of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),and has achieved favorable clinical efficacy,which provides certain reference value for TCM clinical treatment of dry eye.关键词
