Professor Luo Weisheng's Experience of Treating Cholestatic Liver Disease Based on the Theory of ″Jaundice Acquired from Dampness″

Abstract
This paper summarizes Professor Luo Weisheng' s experience of treating cholestatic liver disease based on the theory of ″jaundice acquired from dampness″.Cholestatic liver disease belongs to the category of ″ jaundice″ in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Professor Luo posits that,the core pathogenesis is dampness obstruction and failure of the liver and gallbladder to excrete bile.During the disease progresses,it evolves into a complex pathogenic network characterized by the interweaving of dampness,blood stasis,and deficiency.Based on this disease progression,jaundice can be divided into early,middle,and late stages.According to the specific nature of concurrent dampness,it is differentiated into four syndrome types:damp-heat accumulation,cold-dampness obstruction,intermingled dampness and blood stasis,and spleen deficiency with dampness excess.By integrating the classifications of Yang jaundice,Yin jaundice,and acute jaundice,a dynamic diagnosis and treatment model that combines staging and syndrome typing is established.The therapeutic principle is established with eliminating dampness as the primary focus,and protection of the spleen and kidney persists throughout the course,with promoting blood circulation as an adjunct.Using Bazhen Lihe Mangan Formula as the foundational prescription,modifications are made based on specific syndromes:for damp-heat accumulation,Yinchenhao Decoction,Hypericum Japonicum,Polygoni Cuspidate Rhizoma et Radix,and Lysimachiae Herba are added;for cold-dampness obstruction,modified Yinchen Zhufu Tang is combined;for intermingled dampness and blood stasis,Danshen Yin and Sparganii Rhizoma are added;for spleen deficiency with dampness excess,Wuling San,Achyranthes Bidentatae Radix and Arecae Pericarpium are added.The prescription formula is flexibly adjusted according to the accompanying symptoms.One representative case is presented.关键词
