Abstract
To screen for high-yield summer maize varieties suitable for the ecological conditions of Nanzhao County,Henan Province,a variety comparison trial was conducted with 16 summer maize varieties(Zhongdi 88,Woyu No.3,Qiule 368,Zhongbo 510,Luoyu 114,Shihui 623,Xianyu 1486,Yike 254,Nonghua 208,Kunyu No.8,Beiqing 210,Denghai 605,Luoyu No.3,Dika 653,Junyu No.6,and Jundan 20).The growth duration,agricultural traits,stress resistance,and grain yield of each variety were investigated.The results showed that the growth durations of all tested varieties ranged from 104 to 109 days,which were generally moderate.The plant height of each variety ranged from 259 to 298 cm.Except for Luoyu 114,which had a cylindrical ear type,all other varieties exhibited tubular ear type.The rust disease incidence ranged from 11.8%to 82.7%,and the lodging rate ranged from 9.3%to 44.2%across varieties.Woyu No.3,Shihui 623,Xianyu 1486,and Kunyu No.8 had rust disease incidence below 20%and lodging rates below 15%.Grain yields ranged from 388.8 to 591.5 kg/667 m2,with 6 varieties(Kunyu No.8,Shihui 623,Luoyu 114,Denghai 605,Woyu No.3,and Zhongdi 88)yielding over 500 kg/667 m2.Based on comprehensive evaluation of growth characteristics,Kunyu No.8,Shihui 623,Denghai 605,Woyu No.3,and Zhongdi 88 were selected as suitable varieties for demonstration and extended planting in the study area.关键词
