The Narrative Path of Ye Xin's Literary Works about the Educated Youth in Guizhou:From The Wasted Years and Ke Guo Ting to Five Sisters

Abstract
Ye Xin is one of the pioneers of the educated youth literature in the New Era.His full-length novel The Wasted Years,written in Guizhou,was published in Harvest in 1980.It depicts the sweats and tears,confusion,hesitation,agony and helplessness of a generation of educated youth amid wasted years.As a pioneering work of educated youth literature,it embodies the characteristics of the formative stage of such literature and merges into the mainstream of scar literature.His full-length novel Ke Guo Ting,published in 2011,narrates how educated youth return to the villages where they once worked in Guizhou in their later years and complete their journey of repentance and redemption.The motif of"repentance and redemption"further deepens Guizhou-themed writing in educated youth literature.The full-length novel Five Sisters,published in 2019,tells the story of five educated youth sisters who come back to Guizhou to offer advice for rural development.It highlights the contemporary feature of edu-cated youth literature serving rural revitalization and reflects the transformation of this literary genre.From The Wasted Years to Ke Guo Ting and then to Five Sisters,we can observe the narrative trajectory of Ye Xin's Guizhou-themed writing in his educated youth literature,as well as the evolution of his liter-ary creation on educated youth.关键词
