Research on the Impact of New Quality Productive Forces on the Diversified Configuration of Corporate Supply Chains

Abstract
In the complex environment marked by frequent geopolitical conflicts,trade fric-tions,and natural disasters,the risk of supply chain disruptions has been intensifying.Promoting the evolution of corporate supply chains from centralization toward diversification has thus be-come a critical issue for enhancing the resilience and security of industrial and supply chains.New quality productive forces(NQPF),as an advanced productivity form driven by technological innovation,bear the potential to reshape firms'resource allocation patterns and optimize upstream-downstream collaborative relationships.Whether and how NQPF can achieve this has drawn considerable attention from both academia and practice.However,existing studies have not yet fully revealed the impact of NQPF on corporate supply chain concentration or its underly-ing mechanisms,leaving a notable gap that calls for further investigation.Against this backdrop,drawing on the resource-based view and dynamic capabilities theory,and using data from Chi-nese A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen over the period 2011-2024,this pa-per employs a two-way fixed effects model to empirically examine the effect of NQPF on supply chain concentration and its intrinsic mechanisms.The findings aim to provide theoretical founda-tions and practical guidance for firms to optimize their supply chain structures and mitigate con-centration risks under conditions of uncertainty.The empirical results show that,first,NQPF ex-erts a significant negative effect on customer concentration,supplier concentration,and overall supply chain concentration,indicating that NQPF effectively drives the transition of corporate supply chain configurations from centralization toward diversification.This conclusion remains robust after a series of rigorous robustness checks.Second,NQPF reduces supply chain concen-tration through two pathways:improving production and operational efficiency and enhancing green technological innovation capability.These two channels constitute key mediating links connecting NQPF with supply chain diversification.Third,heterogeneity analyses reveal that the negative effect of NQPF on supply chain concentration varies across firm size,ownership type,industry attributes,and regional distribution,thereby uncovering the boundary conditions and contextual dependence of this effect.The theoretical contributions of this paper are threefold.First,grounded in the resource-based view and dynamic capabilities theory,it systematically re-veals the promoting effect of NQPF on supply chain diversification,thereby extending the re-search frontier on the economic consequences of NQPF and enriching the antecedent analysis of supply chain structure in the literature.Second,it clearly identifies two mediating pathways—production and operational efficiency and green technology innovation—deepening our under-standing of the micro-level mechanisms through which NQPF operates.Third,through multi-dimensional heterogeneity analysis,it systematically delineates the applicability boundaries and conditional dependencies of NQPF's impact on supply chain concentration,providing an analyti-cal framework for future disaggregated research and offering empirical evidence for policymakers to implement targeted measures and for corporate managers to adopt tailored strategies.关键词
