Constructing a Competency-Based Undergraduate Training System for Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation:A Perspective Based on the International Classification of Functioning,Disability and Health

Abstract
With its unique advantages,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)rehabilitation has increasingly become an important contributor to the supply of rehabilitation resources.However,the provision of high-quality TCM rehabilitation services depends crit-ically on a workforce of highly competent TCM rehabilitation professionals.Currently,the interdisciplinary talent development mechanism for TCM rehabilitation remains incomplete,and the integration of TCM theories and modern rehabilitation curricula re-quires further optimization.To address these existing challenges,this study adopts the World Health Organization International Clas-sification of Functioning,Disability and Health(ICF)and the Rehabilitation Competency Framework(RCF)as dual theoretical foun-dations to explore the construction of an undergraduate talent cultivation system for the TCM rehabilitation discipline.The ICF pro-vides a unified framework for the classification of functioning and health outcomes,which bridges the conceptual gap between TCM and modern rehabilitation.The RCF clarifies the core competencies required for rehabilitation practitioners and provides systematic guidance for the development of interdisciplinary professional capabilities.Based on the ICF and RCF frameworks,this study imple-mented backward design for the curriculum system,which consists of five modules:general education courses,foundational profes-sional courses,core professional courses,medical humanities courses,and evidence-based literacy courses.This approach ensures that course content achieves dual mapping to both ICF components and RCF core competencies.Taking the course TCM rehabilita-tion for musculoskeletal disorders as an example,this paper elaborates on the RCF-based curriculum development process.Further-more,this study constructs a practical teaching system featuring a three-level progressive training path of"in-class practical training-curricular internship-clinical internship",with social practice and innovation capability cultivation integrated throughout the entire training process.This system aims to cultivate interdisciplinary TCM rehabilitation professionals with a global perspective,systematic TCM expertise,and innovative capability,providing references for educational innovation and high-quality development of TCM rehabilitation in China.关键词
