东西部协作影响受援地农户稳定增收的机制研究
The mechanism by which East-West cooperation promotes stable income growth for farmers in recipient areas:A perspective of farmers' self-development capabilities

Abstract
Against the backdrop of consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation,promoting stable income growth for farming households has become a key task in addressing issues related to agriculture,rural areas,and farmers.Unlike existing literature,which offers one-dimensional assessments of the income-boosting effects of policies,this research examines the effects and pathways through which East-West collaboration promotes stable income growth for farming households in recipient regions,based on micro-level survey data from 997 farming households across Yunnan,Guizhou,Sichuan,and Chongqing in 2024.The study indicates that East-West collaboration can significantly raise farmers' income levels and reduce income uncertainty,demonstrating dual effects of"promoting income growth"and"stabilizing income growth."These findings hold even after robustness tests using replacement variables,propensity score matching,and instrumental variables.Heterogeneity analysis reveals that the positive impact of East-West collaboration is more pronounced among farmers with higher income volatility,those in the upper-middle income quintile,and households that have recently escaped poverty.Mechanism tests indicate that East-West collaboration contributes to stable income growth for farmers through two pathways:first,educational and medical collaboration improves conditions for household investment in human capital,enhancing the capacity for sustained income growth;second,labor and industrial collaboration promotes employment and household entrepreneurship,optimizes the structure of household income sources,and strengthens risk-coping capabilities.Accordingly,institutional arrangements for East-West collaboration should be further refined to ensure the coordinated implementation of employment security,capacity building,and entrepreneurship support,thereby enabling farmers to achieve more stable and sustainable income growth.关键词
