Investigation on comorbidity patterns and risk factors of mental disorders and somatic diseases in the elderly

Abstract
Objective To identify the comorbidity patterns and risk factors of somatic diseases in elderly patients with men-tal disorders.Methods Retrospective analysis was performed on patients with mental disorders admitted to the geriatric psychiatry ward of Beijing Anding Hospital from January 2023 to December 2023.Multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the comorbidity patterns and risk factors of mental disorders combined with physical diseases.Results Among the 890 patients,the most prevalent comorbid combinations of mental disorders and somatic diseases were depressive disorder comorbid with hyperlipidemia(32.58%),depressive disorder comorbid with hypertension(27.08%),depressive disorder comorbid with hypoalbuminemia(17.87%),depressive disorder comorbid with cerebral infarction(13.60%),and depressive disorder comorbid with diabetes mellitus(13.15%).Compared with females,males exhibited a significantly lower risk of depressive disorder comorbid with hyperlipidemia(P<0.05).Compared with the 60-69 years age group,individuals aged≥80 years had a significantly lower risk of depressive disor-der comorbid with hyperlipidemia(P<0.05).Age 70-79 years,cerebral infarction,and diabetes mellitus significantly increased the risk of depressive disorder comorbid with hypertension(P<0.05).Males and individuals aged≥80 years showed a significantly re-duced risk of depressive disorder comorbid with hypoalbuminemia(P<0.05),while anemia significantly elevated the risk of depressive disorder comorbid with hypoalbuminemia(P<0.05).Conclusion Elderly patients with mental disorders exhibit disease-specific,high-prevalence comorbidity patterns driven by vascular,metabolic and nutritional factors,necessitating targeted prevention and inte-grated management.关键词
